Tony
Dargan has been in and around the music scene, mainly
in West Yorkshire since the early 1970`s. In that time, he has been
involved in a number of musical projects, from being in Celeidh
Bands, Duos, Trios, running the "Rock" Folk Club in Castleford
to being in a 1960`s Revival Rock Band.
He has supported such notables as Allan Taylor, Chris While, Ewan
Carruthers, Catheryn Craig & Brian Willoughby, Ray Hearne, Martin Carthy and Bernard Wrigley.
His
style of music is as varied as the aforementioned projects, ranging
from English/Irish/Scottish Traditional through to Contemporary
Artists such as Dougie McLean, Nanci Griffith and
Martyn Joseph.
Tony can also be booked as part of a duo with another notable local performer - Alan Gill. Together they perform close harmony songs with guitar accompaniment. Dargan and Gill
Tony currently resides in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, but has become
a regular at Wath
Folk Club. His reasons are simple; "Its the best bloody
club in the area, not just because of the high standard of singing,
but because it is also frequented by lovely sociable people".
