Real UK Music exists to provide internet support for the people and organisations that perform or organise local live 'acoustic' music events, ie contemporary modern day folk, original music, singer songwriters, and even blues, jazz and classical music in the areas where these feature strongly.

Please note that some organisations use the terms 'acoustic' or 'live' music venues. This is mainly to distinguish between modern, contemporary folk music and traditional folk music, but, even so, most venues try to incorporate some elements of traditional folk into their music calendar. There are quite a few clubs that are predominantly traditionally orientated.
